U.S. President Donald Trump recently discovered a farewell letter from his predecessor, Joe Biden, within the Oval Office. This unexpected finding occurred after a journalist prompted Trump to search for such a letter.
While signing a series of executive orders, a correspondent asked Trump if Biden had written to him. This inquiry led Trump to inspect the drawers of his office, where he indeed found the letter. Upon lifting it, Trump realized it was addressed to “47,” indicating his position as the 47th President of the United States.
Before setting the letter aside, Trump remarked, “Maybe we should all read it together,” before correcting himself by stating that he would read it personally before sharing it publicly.
He then thanked the journalist named “Peter” who had posed the question, saying, “Thank you, Peter… maybe it would have remained hidden for months before I found it.”
Trump also revealed that he was unaware Biden had issued a pardon for some of his family members, noting that the pardon was granted during Biden’s speech after taking the constitutional oath.
Following his swearing-in ceremony on Monday, Trump held an interview with journalists in the Oval Office, where he discussed a wide range of topics. These included the pardon of 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6 events, the app TikTok, tariffs, and the question of whether he would become a dictator.
