Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko announced that oncologists in Russia have started using organ transplantation as a promising method for treating cancer. Speaking at the “Podium Jet” (We Will Live) awards ceremony, he emphasized that this approach provides a chance to save patients suffering from certain malignant tumors.
Murashko stated that this technique has already been implemented in a Russian medical center, with plans to expand its use by 2025. He also highlighted the growth of Russian research in immunotherapy drugs and biomedical products, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of cancer treatments.
The minister added that clinical trials of new drugs are ongoing and that innovative therapeutic platforms are being developed. The first results are expected to emerge this year, marking a significant step forward in the fight against cancer in Russia and worldwide.
