Mauritania signed a framework agreement this Thursday in Nouakchott with the OPEC Fund for International Development, amounting to $120 million over a period of three years, along with a grant of $500,000.
On this occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Sidi Ahmed Ould Abouh, emphasized that this agreement, covering the period 2025-2028, outlines the priorities for cooperation in terms of development project financing and technical support.
He also highlighted the long-standing relationship between Mauritania and the fund, which has lasted for more than four decades, stressing that this partnership has significantly contributed to economic growth and to laying the foundations for economic and social development in the country.
The agreement was signed by Mauritania’s Minister of Economy and the President of the OPEC Fund, Abdulhamid Alkhalifa.
For his part, Abdulhamid Alkhalifa stated that this agreement marks a new milestone in the partnership between the fund and Mauritania, emphasizing that it represents the culmination of a successful collaboration and paves the way for enhanced support for development efforts.
