وصفت صحيفة الغارديان The British newspaper *The Guardian* described Russia's use of the hypersonic "Oreshnik" missile to strike Ukraine's largest military factory as a direct message from President Vladimir Putin to Washington and London. The strike was reportedly a response to Kyiv's attacks on Russian regions using American and British missiles.
In his statement, President Putin confirmed the use of the missile, which is ten times faster than the speed of sound and cannot be intercepted by current air defense systems. He warned that Russia would target military sites in countries supplying weapons used against it, while issuing prior warnings to civilians and friendly nations for humanitarian reasons.
Putin accused the United States of dismantling the international security system, citing its unilateral withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 2019. He reaffirmed that Russia's military operation in Ukraine would continue until its objectives are fully achieved and stated that Western aid would not alter the course of the war or halt the advance of Russian forces.
Additionally, the Russian army announced the complete destruction of the underground military factory "Yuzhmash" in the Dnipro region of Ukraine.
