Abkhaz Opposition Storms Parliament - Video 

The Abkhazian capital, Sukhumi, witnessed heightened tensions as opposition protesters stormed the parliament and surrounded the presidential complex. This action was in protest against an agreement with Russia allowing Russian entities to undertake investment projects on the republic's territory.The opposition viewed the agreement as a threat to Abkhazia's economic sovereignty, prompting a sit-in attended by approximately 2,500 demonstrators. 

Security forces used smoke grenades to disperse the crowd, while the scheduled parliamentary session was canceled due to pressure and a lack of consensus on the agenda.It is noteworthy that Russia recognized Abkhazia's independence in 2008 and continues to provide economic and military support to the region.
