The meeting included a detailed presentation by the Minister of Health on the current state of the pharmaceutical sector and the proposed measures to address the entrenched issues in the drug market, which have caused serious harm to public health over the years. Despite increasing public demands to resolve this crisis, successive governments have struggled to halt its escalation. The new measures include regularizing drug authorizations within three months, tightening transport and storage standards, implementing traceability for drugs from port entry to consumer, and standardizing drug prices nationwide.
