Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during his meeting with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Beijing, reaffirmed China’s strong support for Iran in protecting its legitimate rights and interests. He also expressed China’s opposition to the use of sanctions and pressure as political tools. Wang emphasized the importance of multilateralism and global economic development, asserting that unilateral hegemony will eventually lose its appeal. The strategic partnership between China and Iran aims to strengthen both regional and international stability.
The two sides discussed key issues, including the situation in the Middle East and Iran’s nuclear program. They agreed that peace in the region requires a political resolution free of foreign interference and respect for the rights of the Palestinian people, including an end to the occupation and the provision of humanitarian aid. Araghchi’s visit to Beijing, the first under the current Iranian administration, was made at the official invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister.
