The commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, revealed that Iran was aware of militant movements in Syria in recent months and had informed the Syrian leadership. He attributed the recent events to a lack of resistance from Syria’s previous leadership, emphasizing that it is unreasonable for Iran to fight in place of the Syrian army.

Salami clarified that the IRGC was the last to leave the resistance front in Syria. He assured that support for the resistance remains open and diverse, with the situation in Syria potentially evolving over time.

He also emphasized that the "Resistance Front" is not geographically confined to Iran, as Hezbollah remains active, strong, and operational. Salami affirmed that Iran’s strength has not waned, citing major military operations as evidence.

During a closed session with the Iranian Parliament, Salami confirmed the end of Iran’s military presence in Syria while stressing that Iran’s and its allies’ power remains robust despite the recent developments.
