The Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported this morning that two Israeli soldiers, who had previously participated in military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, were seriously injured in a car-ramming and shooting attack in New Orleans, United States.
According to the newspaper, the two soldiers, in their twenties and serving in the reserves at the time, were targeted by a former U.S. Army soldier who claimed allegiance to the terrorist group ISIS.
The two soldiers were on a six-week trip to the United States when they were attacked. They are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Reports indicate that one of the soldiers sustained severe injuries, while the other suffered moderate wounds.
