An armed attack in Tehran resulted in the deaths of two Supreme Court judges and the injury of a third. The assailant, after carrying out the attack, took his own life.
Iranian media reported that the incident occurred in Erak Square, Tehran, where the attacker used a handgun to target the judges.
The identities of the victims and the attacker remain undisclosed, and authorities are conducting an investigation to uncover the circumstances and motives behind the assault.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the assailant had no active case before the Supreme Court and was not associated with its branches. Security forces swiftly responded to the scene, but the attacker committed suicide before being apprehended.
It is noteworthy that over the past year, Iran’s judiciary has undertaken extensive efforts to identify, arrest, and prosecute agents, spies, and elements linked to Israel or terrorist groups, as reported by Iranian media.
