This announcement positions Trump at the forefront of international leaders revealing this significant agreement, which was later confirmed by a U.S. official to Axios, stating that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza had indeed been reached.
Palestinian media reported details of the agreement, which included a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange, brokered under international mediation and facilitated by Qatar.
Meanwhile, Hamas announced on Wednesday evening that its negotiating delegation in Doha had submitted its final approval of the agreement to mediators, paving the way for the implementation of the agreed terms.
These developments come after intense negotiations conducted under the auspices of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, aimed at finalizing the agreement and ending the 16-month-long war in the Gaza Strip.
