The “Hind Rajab” organization has filed lawsuits against 28 Israeli soldiers in eight different countries and submitted information to the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding war crimes committed by more than 1,000 soldiers and officers during their military operations in Gaza and Lebanon.
According to an Israeli newspaper, the organization filed a lawsuit last week in Argentina against an Israeli soldier from the “Givati” Brigade, accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Another lawsuit was filed against a soldier wanted in Brazil, accused of involvement in murders and crimes against humanity, who later fled to Argentina.
The organization gathers publicly available information online about Israeli army soldiers, including details of their military activities, with the aim of prosecuting them in foreign courts.
Additionally, Israeli sources reported last Sunday that the soldier wanted in Brazil for allegations of war crimes in Gaza managed to flee before his arrest and is expected to return to Israel soon, without disclosing his destination during the escape.
In response to the increasing legal actions, mothers of Israeli soldiers sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, expressing concerns over the growing risks soldiers face in international courts.
