In his speech, His Excellency the Minister affirmed that this conference enjoys significant support and attention from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. He indicated that this favor is reflected in the continuity and acceptance of the conference both at the African and international levels, referring to the adoption by the African Presidents’ Summit in Addis Ababa of the Nouakchott Declaration issued during previous editions of the conference.
The Minister congratulated His Excellency the President of the Republic for his wise presidency of the African Union, marked from the beginning of his mandate by sustained efforts encompassing various regions of the world and their countries. These initiatives aim to amplify Africa’s voice, defend its legitimate rights, and respond to the aspirations of its peoples in terms of development, security, stability, and peace.
He also highlighted that the Department of Islamic Affairs and Original Education has accomplished several crucial missions, such as creating conducive conditions for performing Islamic rites and preserving our original educational system, considered the cradle of Islamic culture and identity. These efforts have bestowed upon our country a remarkable scientific standing.
Furthermore, the Minister explained that the department strives to strengthen the community and the region through annual scientific missions. These missions promote a moderate Sunni Islam in its purest form, thereby ensuring an effective fight against phenomena of radicalism and extremism.
