The Hamas movement is preparing today, Thursday, to release three Israeli and five Thai hostages, who will be handed over in front of the house of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.

Details of the Hostages to Be Released

The list of Israelis to be released includes:

  • Soldier Agam Berger (20 years old)
  • Civilian Arbel Yehoud (29 years old)
  • Civilian Gadi Moshe Moses (80 years old)

Israel has also confirmed the release of five Thai hostages, though their names have not been disclosed. Meanwhile, eight other Thai nationals remain in Gaza, along with a Nepali and a Tanzanian citizen.

Preparations for the Prisoner Exchange Agreement

The Israeli Prison Service has announced that it is finalizing logistical and operational arrangements for the release of Palestinian detainees as part of the exchange deal. The prisoners will be transferred from Ofer Prison to designated release points in the West Bank and at the Kerem Shalom crossing.

According to Israeli public broadcasting, Hamas is expected to release the hostages in three phases throughout the day, with indications that soldier Berger will be handed over at a special platform set up by Hamas in the Jabaliya refugee camp.

Security and Media Presence at the Handover Site

Palestinian media outlets have published photos and videos showing the ongoing preparations for the hostage release. Members of the Al-Qassam Brigades have been deployed at the handover site, particularly around Sinwar’s house, as part of enhanced security measures to ensure a smooth process.

Background on the Agreement and Previously Released Hostages

This new group of hostages was added to the release schedule after a dispute over the failure to release Arbel Yehoud in the previous batch was resolved. Additionally, three more hostages are scheduled to be released on Saturday.

Since the ceasefire agreement began on January 19, seven hostages have been released so far, including four soldiers and three civilians. Gadi Moshe Moses will be the first male hostage released under this agreement.

Israeli Request for Information on Other Hostages

Meanwhile, Israel has requested clarifications from Hamas regarding the status of Shiri Bibas and her two children, Ariel and Kfir. Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas is supposed to release living children and civilian women first, followed by female soldiers, the elderly, and disabled individuals.
