In a statement, the police confirmed that officers and firefighters were dispatched to the scene following a report of the bridge’s collapse. Preliminary investigations suggest that the bridge gave way while the train was crossing, and no injuries have been reported so far.
Authorities have warned local residents to avoid the area and to stay out of the river, as debris may still be present. The local TV channel KVAL noted that the train was carrying agricultural materials at the time of the accident.
