The World Bank approved on Friday the project “Support for the Development of Energy Resources and the Mining Sector in Mauritania,” known as the DREAM project. The project aims to develop electricity storage and the use of batteries, promote green hydrogen, and support strategic reforms in the sector. The financial package for the project is 82.5 million USD.
The project also includes the construction of the first large-scale electricity storage facility using batteries in Mauritania, enabling the country to maximize the use of its abundant solar and wind energy resources.
