A Danish non-governmental organization has warned about the threat of unexploded ordnance in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that these remnants will continue to endanger civilians, particularly children, even after the fighting stops. The organization reported that 70% of residents are returning to areas that experienced intense clashes, increasing their risk of exposure to unexploded bombs and rockets.
The report also highlighted the severe shortage of humanitarian aid, forcing residents to search for essential items among the rubble, risking their safety. Children are the most vulnerable, as they might mistake these munitions for toys. The organization criticized Israel’s "indiscriminate" use of weapons in civilian areas, which it stated violates international humanitarian law.
