Iran announced the activation of new advanced centrifuges in response to a decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) accusing it of failing to fully cooperate. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this measure aims to safeguard the country's nuclear interests while maintaining cooperation under the Safeguards Agreement.
This move follows a vote by the IAEA Board of Governors, where 19 members approved a resolution criticizing Tehran, while Russia, China, and Burkina Faso opposed it, and 12 members abstained.
Iran accused the United States and the European Troika of pursuing destructive policies that undermine relations with the IAEA. This escalation comes amid growing concerns about Iran's enriched uranium stockpile reaching levels close to those needed for nuclear weapons production.
