Iranian Ambassador Recalls Details of His Injury in Pager Explosion in Lebanon

The Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, recounted the details of a pager explosion in his possession, clarifying that the device was intended for civilian, not military, use. Amani explained that the explosion occurred after he received an emergency message, resulting in serious injuries, particularly to his right eye and fingers, necessitating his transfer to Tehran for treatment.

The ambassador described the explosion as a "war crime" and attributed the responsibility to Israel, asserting that these civilian devices had been tampered with during transit through certain European countries, and might have been swapped or equipped with explosives before reaching Lebanon. He added that the devices were of Taiwanese origin and were widely used by civilians, firmly denying that they had been imported from Iran.
