Nouakchott - The president of the Rally of Democratic Forces party, Ahmed Ould Daddah, participated in the party's conference that began yesterday, announcing his full support for the outcomes and recommendations of the conference. Ould Daddah arrived at the conference after the release of a video in which he denies the legitimacy of the extraordinary conference, emphasizing his support for the initiatives of the party's executive office.
From his side, Ould Daddah emphasized the need to remain equidistant from both sides of the conflict within the party, stressing that he would not favor one side over the other. He also called for the formation of a committee tasked with preparing a final statement for the conference, to be read in an official session with his presence.
Ould Daddah's participation in the conference follows previous statements in which he declared the conference illegitimate, affirming the Rally party's commitment to democratic values and its direction towards a stable and reconciled Mauritania.
The cancellation of the conference, announced by Ould Daddah two days ago, has sparked widespread debate among the party members.
