Lavrov: What Is Happening in Ukraine Is a Tragedy, While in Palestine It Is a Humanitarian Catastrophe

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the number of civilian casualties in Palestine within one year is double the number of victims in the Ukrainian conflict over ten years. He described the situation in Ukraine as a tragedy and in Palestine as a humanitarian catastrophe.

In an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, Lavrov said: "Although we condemned the terrorist attack that triggered the Israeli operation, this operation has taken the form of collective punishment, which is also contrary to international humanitarian law. Within just one year of these operations, an estimated 45,000 Palestinian civilians have been killed."
