Twelfth Anniversary of the Establishment of the Pact for the Political, Economic, and Social Rights of the Haratines

This Monday evening in Nouakchott, the "Pact for the Political, Economic, and Social Rights of the Haratines" organized a major event to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of its founding. The event, which saw the significant participation of representatives from political parties and prominent national figures, reflects the important role the Pact plays in promoting the fundamental rights of the Haratines.

During the ceremony, Mr. Yerbeh Ould Nafaa, President of the Pact, delivered a speech emphasizing the urgent need to achieve equality and justice among all sections of the population. He addressed the land issues that have negatively impacted local farmers, highlighting the necessity for effective solutions

Mr. Ould Nafaa added that the Pact had submitted a demand petition to the government and all political parties, including recommendations for greater involvement of the Haratines in the political process and at all decision-making levels. He affirmed that achieving social balance requires more effective interventions that consider the specific situation of this community, which is among the most vulnerable in society.

The event was not just an occasion to commemorate the founding of the Pact but also an opportunity to renew the commitment to the struggle for human rights and to strengthen national unity, marking an important step toward building a better future for all citizens.
