Rebuke and Disciplinary Actions Against Israeli Army Spokesperson

Tensions have escalated between the Israeli military and government after Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari criticized the "Feldstein Law," which allows the transfer of classified information to the Prime Minister and Defense Minister without prior authorization. Hagari described the law as dangerous to Israel's security and the lives of soldiers.
In response, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi reprimanded Hagari, stating that the military does not publicly criticize legislation but conveys its views through official channels. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced strict disciplinary measures against Hagari, calling his comments a severe deviation from his responsibilities.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the actions taken, emphasizing that the military should not intervene in political matters. Meanwhile, opposition leader Yair Golan defended Hagari, arguing that his criticism was necessary to protect Israel's security.
The controversial law, introduced after the "classified documents" case, was passed in its first reading by the Knesset.
