The epidemic that has swept through the municipality of Aïn Farba has reached an unprecedented level. Overcrowding has overwhelmed the only hospital in the municipality, which is now in a dire state. Patients cannot find a place to rest, with many lying on the ground or seeking refuge under trees, which are no longer sufficient due to the large number of patients. Many patients have been unable to reach the hospital due to a lack of transportation (Sariyas), as all means have been completely exhausted. The ambulance that was previously available has long disappeared, and its fate remains unknown, with the authorities failing to replace it..
This situation has prompted us to call on the authorities for urgent intervention to save the patients at the hospital and in neighboring villages who have been unable to reach it. We also call for the opening of healthcare centers in all the villages of the municipality to alleviate the daily suffering of the residents and to provide basic medical care for emergencies, the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, and children..
Given the resurgence of malaria during the autumn season, we request assistance for the residents to acquire insecticide-treated mosquito nets and repellents, in addition to raising awareness about the need to avoid mosquito-infested areas and use insecticides..
Regarding the hospital's infrastructure, we strongly reiterate our support for the mayor's request to provide an ambulance and expand the hospital so that it can accommodate the increasing number of patients, as the daily patient count, even under normal circumstances, exceeds its capacity.
We also call for support for the medical staff by increasing the number of doctors and diversifying specialties to address the various challenges. We would like to take this opportunity to commend the efforts of the hospital's medical staff, who work tirelessly day and night without rest to care for patients, despite the exhaustion and difficulties they endure. Their dedication to serving patients is greatly appreciated and reflects their deep commitment to the humanitarian mission they fulfill under these challenging conditions.
This region is suffering from unprecedented isolation and had welcomed the authorities' decision to build a paved road with hope. However, this decision has remained on paper, further exacerbating the suffering, especially in terms of healthcare, as patients have been unable to reach medical centers in the nearby town of Tintane due to the difficult sandy paths. Therefore, we renew our call to the government to fulfill its commitments on this matter..
