Resignation of the Vice President of the Tawassoul Party in Protest Against the Recognition of Election Results
Following the decision of the "Tawassoul" party's president to support the power's candidate in the last presidential elections—a decision rejected by the party's organs—Ahmed Ould Daddah appreciated the efforts to resolve the crisis. Moukhtar Sheikh was elected new party president at an extraordinary congress, and Ahmed Ould Daddah was chosen as honorary president with his blessing. Congress participants reaffirmed their commitment to the party's opposition political line, its objectives and principles, and called for a change in the government's approach and taking responsibility for establishing a true democracy in Mauritania.

Biram Dah Abeid renewed his position of not recognizing Mohamed Ould Ghazwani's victory in the latest presidential elections, expressing his willingness to dialogue with the regime to solve political issues peacefully. At a festival organized by his camp, he called for an end to the undeclared state of emergency, the dissolution of parliament, and the holding of early legislative elections, as well as the organization of a comprehensive national dialogue. He emphasized the need to release political prisoners, to form an investigative committee on the events in Kehidi, and to authorize peaceful demonstrations.
Mohamed Ould Mohamed Embarek, vice president of the "Tawassoul" party, resigned in protest against the party leadership's recognition of the presidential election results, which were extensively falsified through proxy voting.
He stated that accepting the results of the rigged elections contradicts the principles of democracy and social peace in Mauritania and does not align with the party's militant history.
