Chinese President Xi Jinping made a short visit to Morocco following his attendance at the G20 summit in Brazil. He was welcomed by Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch at Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport, where they held friendly talks reflecting the strong ties between the two nations.
In recent years, China has increased its investments in Morocco, particularly in infrastructure and railways. Morocco has also attracted Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturers due to its strategic location near Europe and its free trade agreements. In June, Chinese company *Gotion High-Tech* chose Morocco as the location for its first mega-factory in Africa, with a total investment of $1.3 billion.
